Dialogue System

Narrative designer/Automatic dialogue system. A pausable dialogue system that automatically moves through a conversation at a pace set by the players reading speed while triggering camera angle changes and animations, allowing the narrative designer to craft deeper conversations and have control over the pacing, adding defined pauses or interruptions as required. This system was developed in response to the fairly standard practice of a player progressing through a conversation by pressing an input each time after reading the line of on screen dialogue to move to the next line which makes all conversations move at a flat pace and can involve a significant number of button presses in narrative heavy sections.
The system also tracks if a conversation has already taken place and provides a summary rather than triggering the whole encounter again which saves the player time when speaking to multiple NPCs in an area.
