Henrikh Mkhitaryan joined Metallurg Donetsk in the 2009-10 season and immediately developed into a key player. He was the youngest captain in Metallurg Donetsk history at the age 21. During the season 2010-11 Mkhitaryan was bought for $7.5 million by the champions Shakhtar Donetsk.
