Episode 2: Triggers of a Manic Episode

My name is Sara aka Scooby Doo. Here are the three main types of triggers that initiate a manic episode and how it progresses.

I hope that this information helps others suffering with bipolar I disorder and the family and friends whom have loved ones diagnosed with this condition.

I was diagnosed over 22 years ago back in December of 2001. Since then, I have had over 5 major episodes, 20 different hospitalizations and have stayed in more than 10 hospitals or psych wards.

I am neither proud nor ashamed of this. I know there is a real stigma regarding mental illness which makes getting help and accepting the fact you may even have a problem extremely difficult.

I hope to produce more content regarding my experiences since I am, fortunately or unfortunately, an expert in this field.I have many crazy experiences I would love to share to get the conversation started around this highly sensitive topic. I know my story isn’t exactly the same as everyone else’s but I’m sure there are commonalities.
