If there isn't controversy, people 'aren't interested in the truth': Jacinta Price
Deputy Mayor of Alice Springs Jacinta Price says the media always connects the issue of Indigenous deaths in custody to racism because "if there isn't a level of controversy, people simply aren't interested in the truth".
The ABC this week apologised to Ms Price for defamatory comments after the Indigenous women's rights campaigner launched legal action.
The national broadcaster formally apologised for airing multiple radio segments that falsely accused Ms Price of spreading "racist vitriol" and "hate speech".
