How to Vectorize an Image in Adobe Illustrator

How to vectorize an image in Adobe Illustrator. This Adobe Illustrator tutorial gives you the best method out there to convert a raster image into a vector graphic - the pen tool. Learn how to convert any raster image (jpeg, jpg, bmp, png, or other bitmap) into vector graphics with Adobe Illustrator. Though you can always vectorize an image using a live trace or image trace, vectorizing an image by hand with the pen tool is by far the best method for quality.

This tutorial will show how to vectorize an image in Illustrator CC using the Batman v Superman logo as an example. We'll convert this jpeg into a vector graphic design using the pen tool.

The first method is to use Adobe Live Trace, but that doesn't always give you great results. Image trace in Illustrator is useful for very complex images that have a lot of detail or for making silhouettes, but the pen tool creates a better vectorized image.

Though the microphone quality in this video is rather low, I upgraded to this microphone in my more recent videos. It's a solid microphone for any YouTube channel starting out.
