In a nutshell, Warlock Quan has its place in MKX, it just won't be the variation you begin with. Using the MB Low Scoop for the armour and the counter zoning of his F3/df2, it's a variation you should select if the matchup calls for it.

Warlock is the most effective against opponents that have keepaway elements that are forced to try and advance as they can't win the fullscreen war. Once they start advancing, your MB Low Scoop is lways a threat to power through their defence, giving you more defensive options once they respect the armoured reversal.
