Painting Water and Reflections | Easy Way to Paint Flowers

Here I've used a simple technique for painting flowers in the foreground. I dried the brush, split the hairs randomly while doing so and then dipped the tips into the lemon yellow before dabbing onto the paper. Paint a dark spot in the middle of each flower with the rigger before adding the stalk. Simple but effective.

The water is about keeping it simple. I think sometimes we tend to overcomplicate things but I paint water as simply as I can. My golden rule is to paint the reflections at the same time rather than afterwards towards the end of the painting. This way I already have the relevant colour paint on the brush and most importantly, I don't forget any reflections which is easier to do than you'd imagine.
