अतः इस व्याख्यान की रूप-रेखा निम्नलिखित उद्देश्यों को ध्यान में रखते हुए बनाई गई है-

✔️ सामान्य अध्ययन के भारतीय विरासत और संस्कृति खंड की तैयारी के लिए प्रारंभिक और मुख्य परीक्षा दोनों की तैयारी में एक समन्वित दृष्टिकोण की जरूरत है। तैयारी के उचित तरीके को अपनाए बिना यह खंड उम्मीदवारों के लिए एक कठिन कार्य साबित हो सकता है। इसलिए, यह व्याख्यान उपर्युक्त खंड की तैयारी के लिए एक व्यावहारिक पद्धति पर बल देता है।

✔️ तैयारी के लिए उचित स्रोत सामग्री का चयन भी उम्मीदवारों के लिए एक कठिन कार्य प्रतीत होता है। अतः इस व्याख्यान में मणिकांत सर ने इस बात पर बल दिया है कि कैसे कोई छात्र पुस्तकों का अध्ययन कर या स्रोत सामग्री को आत्मसात करते हुए लाभ को अधिकतम कर सकता है। इसके अलावा, मणिकांत सर ने एक बहुत ही प्रतिष्ठित लेखक, देवदत्त पटनायक, द्वारा हाल ही में प्रकाशित एक पुस्तक के बारे में भी चर्चा की है और बताया है कि कैसे अध्ययन सामग्री को आत्मसात करने की तरीके का ठीक से उपयोग आपकी तैयारी में उपयोगी सिद्ध हो सकती है।
