Auto Body Spot Repair: Blending Metallic Car Paint w/o Tiger Stripes / Mottling
Demonstrates how to match or blend automotive paint such as Nason BC/CC - Base Coat / Clear Coat. Offers tips on how to avoid tiger stipes and mottling when spraying metallic paints and how to color match or blend paint without having a dry edge by using clear coat to achieve the desired shine.
Paint Prep: After block sanding the body work (both quarter panels) with 120, they were primed again and allowed to dry overnight. Wet sanded (finish sanded) quarters / body work w/ 320 on small rubber block. Pulled old tape and masking paper, cleaned up the car, masked it off for final paint. Scuffed the rest of the panels that will be blended onto and cleared w/ red scuff pad. Blew off all dust, wiped it down with wax and grease remover, blew off any remaining dust and debris, wiped w/ tack cloth, set up box fan (on low) under door for ventilation, mixed paint according to instructions.
