Did We Lose Money On Our Shoebox Ford?
We flew to Las Vegas with one goal:
Buy an auction car for under $10,000… and drive it home.
But we ended up buying something MUCH stranger.
This 1949 Ford was restored by Netflix for the Ed Gein series and used as the hero car in the production. After crossing the auction block at Mecum, we drove it more than 300 miles back to San Diego to see if this old Ford could survive the trip.
Along the way we dealt with:
starter issues
vapor lock
DMV headaches
buyers backing out
and finally… selling the car.
