Miguel González, Juan Miguel's father, began to build guitars in 1935 and was a contemporary of the Moya Brothers, andalusian guitar makers from Almería who learned the trade from Antonio de Torres, allowing his undeniable mastery to lay the foundations of a solid guitar tradition in Almería.

The relay of this tradition is collected by his son Juan Miguel González, who began at a very young age in this vocational craft of artisans in his father's workshop, thus introducing himself into the exciting world of the construction of the Spanish guitar and expanding the artisan legacy of his parent. His work masterfully combines craftsmanship, innovation, technique, research, dedication and a lot of passion.

The noble materials used by Juan Miguel González for the construction of his guitars, carefully selected and with a high acoustic potential, have an exceptional quality. Much of these materials belonged to his father's original workshop, and they have benefited from a careful and careful controlled aging process to now have wood of the highest quality.

By having a purely artisanal limited production, using techniques such as working with “solera”, for example, since they are open to making the modifications that their clients request, delivery times are several months, but they are convinced that the wait will be rewarded. when the guitarist has the custom guitar in his hands.

12:21 FRANCISCO SANTIAGO MARÍN FLAMENCO GUITARS
"PACO MARÍN"
Region: Andalusia | Granada
Web: http://pacosantiagomarin.es/
Contact: Paco Marín

He comes from a family of guitar makers and flamenco luthiers, and has been building guitars since 1965. He has loved wood since he was a child. His father, Francisco Santiago Oliva, a cabinet maker by vocation, instructed him in the trade and with him he remained in the carpentry until 1963, the year in which he entered the workshop of his uncle, Antonio Marín Montero, to complete his training as a guitar maker.

His guitars stand out for their great projection, balance and sound color, which is why they have been preferred by great international masters of this instrument. Paco builds his guitars completely by hand using traditional methods and designs.

For Paco, the basis of the Granada school are the guitars of Antonio de Torres, however he has never stopped researching and developing their construction. He is not a fan of modern materials and new techniques although they can give more power to the guitar, at the cost of the quality of the tone, but prefers to stay true to the acoustic tradition and nobility of the woods themselves.

13:52 FRANCISCO BARBA FLAMENCO GUITARS
Region: Andalusia | Seville
Web: http://franciscobarba.net
Contact: Francisco Barba

Francisco Barba's professional career begins in the 60s of the last century. He learned the trade of carpentry from his father, although at the age of 17 he decided on a self-taught way to specialize in the construction of guitars in the same house where he now has his workshop.

He is considered one of the best guitar makers of all time and his guitars have been (and are) praised and used by some of the best guitarists in the world.

At present, his sons pick up his tradition as a guitar maker and continue to make the wonderful guitars that are so well received by stars and flamenco fans.
