Can a man outright vanish?

The man known as David Lang may have. The story is complicated and stretches across decades. All about the story of an unknown farmer from Tennessee... Or was it Alabama? Who, one day, crossed his impossible field. And never returned. The legend and rumors of David Lang have circulated across America for more than a decade. Where did he come from and where did he go?

Perhaps into nowhere. Or into Mexico. In an odd twist, the vanished farmer's fate is eternally tied to a similar. The American author Ambrose Bierce. A writer who himself disappeared into the deserts of Revolutionary Mexico. From which he never emerged. The "Laughing Devil" was lost to time. To rest between David Lang and others such as Orion Williamson.

What do a farmer, a writer, and a dentist have to do with it then?
