My Biggest Wisconsin Musky of All Time!

From the very first moment I laid eyes on that musky, I knew that I had to have her. As the big fish snaked back and forth near the surface, chasing my buddy Chris Ghidorzi’s GlideRaider in toward the boat, I could see the sun’s rays reflecting off her golden-brown back. This musky was unique. Besides her unusually large size, her color was far lighter than most muskies I had encountered, making her standout like a mature buck among yearlings.

It was early June when this first encounter took place and from that point forward, I dedicated many hours, days and months into tracking the “Ghidorzi” musky, studying its tendencies and trying to get her to make a mistake. In total, we hooked and lost this musky 3 times! I knew she was vulnerable under certain solunar phases, in particular moonrise, so I made very effort to put myself, clients and friends in position to catch her.

September, 24th 2017 started off just like any other musky hunt. The weather was hot and muggy for late-September but the new moon peak offered me a unique opportunity so it was game-on. The instant this musky slammed my 700 Buchertail tinsel, I knew it was her!
