VST instrument taking too much processor power during livestream ( 21/4 time signature)

Right at the start the U-he synth Tyrell n6 takes up 100% of processor making #Renoise lag. I am almost panicking because I do not want to lose my synth. Eventually I get the track done, well most of it anyway.

During the stream I was asked what is the benefit of a tracker over a normal #DAW and I couldn't answer it concisely at the time - The benefit is that I can program certain sample-based tricks much more conveniently, for example #programming tightly detailed drum patterns is so much faster and easier to do in a sound tracker than with a piano roll interface provided by an average DAW.

Of course the downside of a tracker is the lack of convenient time stretching and accurate pitch shifting - which is why I am going to mix my tracks down in Cockos Reaper using the built-in Rewire capability connecting both softwares.
