2021 USA BMX Grands - Drew Polk

This is one of the best weekends of my life. I performed phenomenally and the results showed. To start the weekend on Friday, I won the Race of Champions (ROC) in both 17-20 Open and 17-20 Expert. Later that night, I raced the NAG 5 Challenge and won that too.

Fast forward to Sunday, I felt terrible. I was physically tired, mentally fatigued, and I could not race one good lap. With the mental help from my coach, Donavon Long, I barely made it into the 17-20 Expert Main Event. With gate 8 in the Main and the National Age Group (NAG) #1 plate on the line, I let autopilot take over. Everything felt like a dream, but I won the main event.

Overall, this weekend was absolutely incredible and I accomplished so many things in just a few days. 2 ROC #1 plates, NAG 5 Challenge win, 17-20 Expert Grands win, and NAG #1. We did it.

I cannot thank everyone enough for the support this year that made 2021 the greatest year of my life. First off, I would like to thank my parents for all the sacrifices they made this year to allow me to chase my dream and accomplish all the goals I set. I would like to thank my coach, Donavon Long, for always believing in me, supporting me, and pushing me to become a champion. Next, I would like to thank all the guys who trained with me before Grands to push me past my limits.
