Maps change over time, and in 2018 we saw the world map change in a few key ways.
In this video, travel to Europe, Africa, Central America to find out how the world map changed in 2018. As borders get redrawn, capital cities get swapped, and countries get renamed, physical geography can take millions of years to change, but political geography can change in an instant.
This video highlights some of the geopolitical changes to the world map in 2018, in particular in The Netherlands, Belgium, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Eswatini (Swaziland), North Macedonia (FYR Macedonia) and Burundi. There's also a small section for New Caledonia, which didn't change in 2018, but it could have.
So join me as we discover how the map of the world changed in 2018, including countries changing names, swapping land, redrawing borders, and moving capital cities.
