The Amarna Aftermath c. 1341-1336 BC and the Mystery of KV55 LOUDER

This is a REVISED VERSION WITH ELEVATED SOUND LEVEL. The short period following the death or disappearance of Akhenaten, Egypt's so-called heretic ruler, is one of the most hotly disputed in all of Egyptology. At the centre is the mysterious tomb known as KV55 and its enigmatic contents. Yet, this all rather misses the key point that the main procession of historical events is not affected by this short interlude: Akhenaten was gone and Tutankhamun became his successor. A short lecture based on the content of my forthcoming book.
