Joshua is originally from Maine, and then went to Japan after high school to study the language and ended up living in Kyoto for three years. After returning to the states and studying architecture in San Francisco for four years, he again got the itch to travel and went to Argentina, where I lived seven years while working in a Japanese trading firm. He returned to SF and became an arborist, bought a 39' sailboat and lived on it while fantasizing about going cruising some day. But then met his wife, who is Japanese, and sold his boat. 4 years later they decided to move to Japan! They now live in a small, quaint castle town called Gujo Hachiman and Joshua worked as a tour leader for multi-day walking tours throughout Japan, until Covid came along!
