Ser o no ser (madres) no debería ser la cuestión | María Fernández-Miranda | TEDxBarcelonaWomen
María Fernández-Miranda Bances was speaker at TEDxBarcelonaWomen 2017 - The Brave You on November 3rd.
She is a journalist who is currently doing as Deputy Director of the well-known women’s magazine Cosmopolitan. Previously, she worked at Elle, Yo Dona, Marie Claire and at La Nueva España newspaper. Living first-hand the pressure that society still puts on women, made her reflect on the type of questions that we ask them every day. After going through seven unsuccesful in vitro fecundations, she embarked on a journey in search of different women role models beyond maternity, interviewing 10 Spanish celebrities (such as Maribel Verdú, Rosa Montero and Alaska) whose voices and stories were collected on her exciting book: “No madres. Mujeres sin hijos contra los tópicos”.
On her talk, Maria explores a world in which we all made better questions to women, questions that empowered them and saw them as multidimensional beings rather trying to define them as mums or non-mums.
