Crispy Wheat Samosa & Pinwheel in Air Fryer | No-Fry Snack Recipe

If you love crispy samosas but want a healthier version without deep frying, this recipe is perfect for you! Today we are making Wheat Samosas and Masala Pinwheels in the Air Fryer — a delicious tea-time snack made with whole wheat flour and a flavorful potato-pea filling.
These snacks turn out crispy, light, and absolutely satisfying, using very little oil. The samosas get beautifully golden in the air fryer, while the pinwheels cook faster and make a fun, bite-sized snack. Perfect for evening chai, parties, or whenever those snack cravings hit!
Ingredients
For the Dough
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp nigella seeds (kalonji)
Salt to taste
Water (to make a slightly firm dough)
For the Filling
2–3 boiled potatoes (mashed)
½ cup boiled green peas
1 small onion (finely chopped)
1–2 green chilies (finely chopped)
Salt to taste
½ tsp red chilli powder
½ tsp amchur powder (dry mango powder)
½ tsp dry coriander powder
Step-by-Step Recipe
Step 1: Prepare the Dough
In a bowl add whole wheat flour, oil, nigella seeds, and salt.
Mix everything well so the oil is evenly distributed.
Gradually add water and knead into a slightly firm dough.
Cover and let it rest for 10–15 minutes.
Step 2: Prepare the Filling
In a mixing bowl combine:
mashed boiled potatoes
boiled green peas
chopped onion
chopped green chilies
Add salt, red chilli powder, amchur powder, and dry coriander powder.
Mix everything well to form a flavorful samosa filling.
Step 3: Make the Samosa Sheets
Divide the dough and roll 6–7 small chapatis.
Cut each chapati into half to create semi-circles.
Step 4: Shape the Samosas
Take one semi-circle and shape it into a cone.
Fill it with the prepared potato mixture and seal the edges to form a samosa.
Step 5: Make the Pinwheels
Roll one chapati into a thin circle.
Spread a layer of the potato filling over it evenly.
Roll the chapati tightly into a long cylindrical roll and cut into small pinwheel slices.
Step 6: Air Fry the Snacks
Preheat the air fryer at 160°C for 5 minutes.
Place the samosas and pinwheels in the air fryer basket.
Samosas: Air fry for 25–40 minutes until crispy and golden.
Pinwheels: Air fry for 10–12 minutes until nicely browned.
Step 7: Serve
Serve the crispy wheat samosas and pinwheels hot with green chutney or ketchup and enjoy them with a cup of chai.
