Stones Throw brings us another banger! John Carroll Kirby's Septet is 2021s Must Have Instrumental Record. Rainmaker is the 1st release from the album which got me hooked and interested enough in the album preorder. Today I play the first two songs off the album to give ya'll a little glimpse into Septet. Septet brings the 70's experimental Jazz fusion groups into a new decade, and if you know me I love a good jam sesh. Septet doesn't break new ground, but it doesn't have to. It's a sound that some of us have been longing for and it's influences are never so obvious that it comes across as a tribute album to a certain time.
