MIM-18 Ice Maker - How to replace the Water Pump

Follow these directions if your Ice Maker is no longer pumping water.
The red Add Water indicator light comes on and if the water tray rotates all the way back and forth, but no water is pumping, then the water pump needs to be replaced.

If your ice maker is still under warranty, the tray is free of charge. Please always have a copy of your order confirmation for validation of the warranty.

The steps below may seem extensive but it is mostly just removing many screws. There is no electrical work involved.
Tools you will need: Screw Driver or Electric Power Drill. Wire Cutters.

DIRECTIONS:
- Turn your ice maker upside down. On the bottom of the ice maker, remove the 8 screws along the edge that holds the back panel of the ice maker. The panel will come off easily.
- Pop off the back panel. You will all the interior. The water pump is located to the left side when looking at the ice maker from the open-back position.
- Remove the silver metal plate. There are 5 screws to remove. Lift of that metal plate.
- Locate the long black wire that connects the water pump to the circuit board. Remove the single screw holding it in, and unplug it from the circuit board.
- Push the large Fan part to the side carefully so it exposes the Water Pump.
- The water pump hose is held in place by zip ties, cut these off carefully. Disconnect the hose.
- The water pump will slide out of the socket. Carefully remove the bad water pump.
- Reconnect the New water pump. Connect the hose to it first. Tighten the connection with a new zip tie.
- Reconnect the Water Pump to the fixed hose and attach a new zip tie securely.
- Hook the water pump back into position.
- Push back the big Fan part.
- Reattach the Metal Plate using the 5 screws. Make sure to reattach the small yellow/green wire at the bottom of it.
**One of the screws has a small flower shape on it, use that to reattach next to the small yellow/green wire.
**Two of the five screws also hold the Metal Plate to the black fan, make sure to screw those on to hold them in position.
- Reconnect the black Water Pump wire back to the circuit board and reattach with the single screw.
- Align the outer panel to the ice maker and reattach it with the 8 screws. (Not shown in video.)
