I built these panels for my home studio wall to help tremendously with my podcasting and YouTube video sound when recording at home. In the early part of the video, I had 6 panels (4 on the wall, 2 on the floor at the corners). I also have two panels I made from old bath/beach towels.
By the end of the video, I have 8 of these acoustic panels, as well as 4” wedge foam on the studio side of the room as well as a dozen 2” wedge foam across the room at my sitting/speaking level. I have not decided if I am going to cover the opposite wall or just add some corner foam at the ceiling. This studio has carpet but will be replaced with hard wood floors within 6 months of making this video.

Note: I used Safe-n-Sound insulation, optionally, you could use UltraTouch (made from denim, R19). If you go with the UltraTouch, pay attention to the size and adjust project accordingly.
