Walking From Westminster Abbey to Big Ben | My London Experience

In this video, I take you on a walk through one of the most historic areas in London — starting at Westminster Abbey and making our way toward Big Ben, one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world.

Westminster Abbey has stood for over 1,000 years and has been the coronation church of British monarchs since 1066. This is where kings and queens have been crowned, including King Charles III. It was also the site of major royal weddings, including Prince William and Catherine Middleton. Inside, more than 3,000 people are buried or memorialized here, including historical figures like Sir Isaac Newton, and writers such as Geoffrey Chaucer. The architecture alone is breathtaking, with soaring Gothic arches, stained glass, and centuries of history layered into every corner.

Just steps away stands Big Ben — which is actually the nickname for the Great Bell inside the clock tower of the Palace of Westminster. The tower itself is officially called the Elizabeth Tower. Completed in 1859, Big Ben has become a symbol of London and British democracy. The Houses of Parliament beside it have shaped the political history of the United Kingdom for centuries. When you hear those famous chimes, it feels like you are hearing the heartbeat of London itself.

This short walk between these landmarks is one of the most iconic in the city. History, royalty, politics, and architecture all come together in just a few steps.

If you love travel, history, and exploring famous landmarks, this area of London is absolutely worth visiting.
