Ice Age Floods - The Palouse Falls Story

Perhaps I'm going to raise more questions than provide answers related to the Ice Age Floods. But in a way, that's my intent! I'll put together small segments such as this to help you begin to grasp the fascinating geological history of the inland NW related to Glacial Lake Missoula and the massive floods it caused.

Here we depart Spokane WA heading SW and flying overhead various features of the Ice Age Floods. I'll point out along the way down to Palouse Falls - located just north of the Snake River - various tidbits of information about the flood effects in this region. I touch on Glacial Lake Columbia, various channels carved out around Bonnie and Rock Lakes, then into the Scablands we go exploring various flood tracks and coulees along the way until we reach the area of Palouse Falls. This was a good evening of flying in the March flying season. I'm happy to have you come along for the ride and share with you a portion of the IAF story!
