Overview
James Newell Osterberg Jr., better known as Iggy Pop, is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and musician who co-founded the proto-punk band the Stooges in 1967. Known as the "Godfather of Punk", Pop's influential performance style and music, which blends blues, free jazz, and rock, has inspired artists like the Sex Pistols and Blondie. His stage antics are known for being unpredictable and outrageous, and he's even rolled around in broken glass and vomited on stage.
