This is HAR - helicopter air refueling - from a KC-130 or MC-130 tanker. The tanker trails a 25-meter hose with a stabilizing basket ("drogue"). The helicopter approaches from behind and above at about 200 km/h (near the airframe's limit) and must spear a probe into a 60-cm ring. Window for contact: roughly 90 seconds before turbulence breaks the hose loose. The CH-47 Chinook is one of the few helicopters cleared for this - mostly used by special operations forces on deep raids. The Chinook's own rotors create downwash that tries to suck the helicopter under the tanker. Among pilots this ranks in the top 3 hardest maneuvers - alongside night landings on aircraft carriers.
