Traveling alone in CARTAGENA, COLOMBIA! (is it safe for women?)

So I traveled alone to Cartagena, Colombia even if my parents and friends warned me not to go there especially if I'm on my own. Honestly, I got a little scared because it is THE COLOMBIA. I've seen a lot of bad news and not a lot of my friends have been to this country but as I do my research, I've seen a lot of good stories about Cartagena. That is why without any hesitation, I instantly booked a one-way ticket from Quito, Ecuador to Cartagena, Colombia.

It was a short but sweet 5 days and I am so happy I booked some excursions like going to Rosario islands which I really enjoyed. I even hired a local who can take pics of me in the very colorful streets of Cartagena. Most questions that I got from my Instagram dm's was "is it safe for women?" I would say I felt safe during the daytime but I am not quite sure about the night time because I didn't actually went out that much. I must say that I really enjoyed my stay there and will definitely back soon!
