Michael Bonnette says Grant Delpit should be a Heisman candidate

LSU Football Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette joined Jordy and T-Bob on Off the Bench.

Bonnette broke down the schedule for the players as they report to campus today, from orientation to physicals to practice.

“It’ll be a quick day and then we’ll hit the practice field tomorrow,” Bonnette said.

How does Bonnette feel about all the preseason media attention?

“You obviously enjoy the attention and being back in the spotlight,” Bonnette said. “This year it’s a complete 180, you have to block out the noise telling you how great you are.”

Furthermore, Bonnette discussed what he wished was getting more media buzz.

“Grant Delpit is getting a lot of attention, but I don’t think people are realizing just how good he is,” Bonnette said. “He is a legitimate, in our eyes, Heisman trophy candidate.”

Finally, Jordy asked who will be number 18 for the Tigers this season.

“We’ll find out tonight,” Bonnette laughed.
