India's Most Modified Yamaha R3: Ohlins Suspension, Flash Tune ECU, Brembo RCS15...
Meet the Yamaha R3 with the ultimate street set up with parts worth nearly Rs 2 lakh.
This bike was built by Speedmonks Performance Centre for my friend Amit Seymour to ride at the Buddh International Circuit, but I think they ended up building the perfect R3 for the road.
The weakest link in the stock Yamaha R3 was its suspension - too soft.
Well, this bike runs an Ohlins spring kit at the front and an Ohlins race suspension at the rear, which are completely tuneable.
That has made a huge impact to how it rides and handles now.
The Flash Tune ECU reflash gives it a little bit more poke and so does the full system Scorpion exhaust system.
The brakes have been upgraded too - Brembo RCS15 master cylinder, HEL direct steel braided lines, Adelin four piston caliper, 300 mm wave rotor at the front - needless to say, it has enough braking power. Maybe a little too much.
It runs better tyres too - Metzeler M5.
This bike also has a Hot Bodies race fairing and Vortex clip on handlebars, but they have been taken off for now, since it is being ridden on the road.
The modifications were carried out at Speedmonks Performance Centre, under the capable hands of Atul Singh.
