How Can Wine Be Sugar Free?
Dry Farm Wines curates extraordinary Natural Wines from small family growers around the world. Every wine meets a set of strict criteria, including organic/biodynamic farming practices, lower alcohol levels, no sugar, and delicious taste. Our wines offer a completely unique wine experience.
Most wines sold today are commercially made, industrial products. They can be full of sugar, high in alcohol, and can include 76 FDA-approved additives like thickeners and dyes.
Real wine is grown, not made. It comes from honest family farms, using heritage practices that respect Nature. This is known as “Natural Wine,” and less than 1% of the world’s wines are grown to this standard.
At Dry Farm Wines, we take it a step further beyond just Natural Wines. Every wine must be:
Organically/Biodynamically Grown
Lab Tested for Purity
Sugar Free (less than 0.15 grams per glass)
Lower Alcohol (less than 12.5% alcohol by volume)
Free of Toxic Additives
Dry Farmed (No Irrigation)
Grown on Small, Family Farms
Lower Sulfites (less than 75 parts per million)
Fermented with Wild, Native Yeast
Friendly to Keto & Paleo
Our global impact extends far beyond Natural Wine. Here are a few other ways we make a difference:
Organic agriculture. Our growers support 87,000 acres of organic farmland, accounting for 7% of all organic vines in Europe. Through this, we are helping protect and expand regenerative practices that are better for the planet.
Lower alcohol levels. Despite rising average alcohol levels in US wines, our community is the first to focus on lower alcohol wines. At 12.1%, our average alcohol percentage is far below the US average. It is driving the conversation around healthier ways to drink and creating a fast industry shift.
Small farms. We support over 350 small farms and family growers worldwide, helping share their wines and their stories, and empowering them to teach other growers their methods for regenerative farming.
Saving water. We only source from growers who do not irrigate their vines. This saves about 16,000 gallons of water per acre annually (roughly 1.6 billion gallons across all our growers). This saves a valuable resource and encourages a new mindset about sustainability and protecting the Earth’s resources.
Transparency. We publish the actual alcohol percentage, sugar content, and sulfite content of each wine we source on our website. This transparency starts the conversation about what is really in wine, which leads to consumer education and behavioral change.
