'The Dambusters Raid - Myths and Legends' by historian Robert Owen

Robert Owen, official historian of the 617 Squadron Aircrew Association, delivered his talk, entitled 'The Dambuster's Raid - Myths and Legends', at an event to commemorate the Raid's 70th anniversary in 2013. Organised by the Barnes Wallis Memorial Trust, the talk took place at the Howden School of Technology in East Yorkshire. Also talking at the event were two very special guests Squadron Leader George 'Johnny' Johnson, one of the three remaining survivors of the 617 Squadron who took part in the Dambuster's Raid and Mary Stopes-Roe, daughter of the inventor of the famous bouncing bomb, codenamed Upkeep. Through Trust member Professor Richard Morris, the University of Huddersfield's Arms and Armour Research Group were kindly invited to film the event.
