Ambient Improvisation - FX chains. pt 2 - Cosmos, pulsar23, compression, distortion

This is the second part of an improvisation using 2 FX chains to loop and create textural variation from a relatively simple source sound.

This section gets to some more gestural movements with distortion and Impacts from the Pulsar23 layered with the Moog and drifts of the Cosmos

FX Chain 1 - Fabrikat, Cosmos. This chain uses the granular delay of the Fabrikat to add movement and repetition which then loops and drifts in the Cosmos. Generally the Cosmos is left in record and the feedback is adjusted to encourage sounds to morph and evolve.

FX Chain 2 - Filter Factory, Alesis 3630, Lexicon MPX1, BSS DPR 402. This chain uses a combination of saturation, reverb and compression to create density and spectral movement. The filter factory at the top of the chain can focus on specific areas of energy while adding saturation. The compressors are hitting the signal fairly hard bringing out the saturation, noise and reverb tail. The reverb is on a large hall setting. This chain was inspired by Empty Set's Album - Medium but restrained to a rack rather than gothic mansion.
