Hello all and welcome back to Empty Pockets Ironworks. For this weeks blacksmithing forged build we just returned from a weekend excursion to our favorite city in the USA Eureka Springs Arkansas. While there I was inspired by another artisans work, predominantly the use of texture to achieve the twig look. After looking the pieces over for a few I decided I (had) to try this myself. This little 26" long fire poker with acorns and oak leaf was a super fun build and now has me excited to try making other different things.
Do you or have you made a texture die or spring swage to mimic tree bark like this? With the New Coal Ironworks forging press I feel like the sky is the limit with the capabilities now in reach thanks to this amazing machine.

I am trying to formulate some sort of giveaway for this milestone and will let you all know very very soon!

The materials for this build were 1/2" cold rolled round and 14 g plate steel, fairly simple and I actually hot cut with a chisel the poker this time. No grinder lol.

I truly hope you all enjoy todays build and maybe it will inspire you like it did me?! I really enjoy making the videos and hope that you all will continue to hang out while we grow. I really feel like this could some day amount to something. Time will tell.
