This whole process is one way to help with preventive maintenance. Understand there are many people using many different printers and there are practicing many different methods of how to take care of your printer, how to fix your printer, and how to modify your printer. Leaving head cleaning solution in the nozzles can help a lot, especially on the white inks, which are the inks that actually separate the most. Why wait till the print head is already clogged to try and fix it.
