Matador - Drawing Machine

This was fun to build. I chose cogwheels because rubber bands would have affected the precision. The 5-symmetry is obviously dictaded by the ratio given by the cogwheels.
What is not shown in the video is that the large cogwheel underneath the paper was advanced by one tooth once the machine started to repeat.
The lever guiding the pen can be attached to different anchor points on both sides, giving different shapes.
