I tried Syrian cuisine for the first time 🇸🇾

I was out running in Prague this week and passed a place called Damascus Restaurant

So I thought Syrian food would be perfect to try for my 13th international cuisine series video

First impressions were really interesting because the restaurant is uniquely decorated and looks very high end

But the food prices are reasonable

For a starter we tried this mashed eggplant dish called moutabal with some pita bread that tasted so fresh and good

Then we had a mixed platter with 4 types of grilled lamb and chicken, salad, pita, rice, and these delicious dips

My biggest takeaway is that Syrian food has such an unique blend of spices that work so well together

I’ll definitely be back to this restaurant to try some different dishes

And hopefully one day I can visit Syria and try it in the country itself 😁
