Law Day 2021 - “Advancing the Rule of Law Now: A Global Perspective”
This year’s program was cosponsored by the Law Library of Congress and the American Bar Association. It explored the rule of law from an international perspective; specifically, how the United States contributes to global understandings of the rule of law, including through funding of rule of law projects, championing rule of law principles in international entities and settings, and cultivating an image as a rule of law country both at home and abroad.
The panel was moderated by Executive Director of the World Justice Project Elizabeth Andersen. She was joined by Former Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia and Former Ambassador for Georgia to the United States Temuri Yakobashvili, Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Ashley Quarcoo, and Law Library of Congress Senior Foreign Law Specialist Jenny Gesley.
