In this interview I sit down with a veteran of the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME), to record his service in his own words.

Formed in 1942, the REME is the Corps responsible for keeping the British Army's equipment running. Tanks, trucks, weapons, radios and aircraft, often repairing under fire and in the field. Their motto, Arte et Marte, means "by skill and by fighting."

We talk about basic training, his trade, the postings that shaped him, life in the workshop and in the field, the people he served alongside, and what he carried with him into civilian life.
