EU's €50bn package for Ukraine signal 'we will withstand', says Zelenskiy

Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, welcomed a €50bn EU support package, after delays caused by objections from Hungary.

Viktor Orbán finally agreed to the aid after a series of meetings with European leaders. Zelenskiy said the decision 'once again proves strong EU unity' adding that: 'This is a clear signal that Ukraine will withstand and that Europe will withstand'.

However, Zelenskiy said Russia was now being supplied with artillery shells by North Korea, and said the country urgently needed the promises 1m artillery shells to match the new threat.
