Epoxy Spreading like a Squeegee

Squeegee Vs Roller Epoxy Application...

Q- What is better to use a squeegee or 18" roller when spreading epoxy on a concrete garage floor?

A- Better for who?

1. Using a rubber or plastic squeege is better if you want to stretch the epoxy across the floor as far as possible.

2. Using a roller is better if you want to mash as much epoxy as possible into the surface of the concrete.

Option 1 prevents the epoxy from penetrating as deep which is bad for the customer because the more material you have below the surface to act as an anchor the better chances of adhesion, but it's good for the installer because hedoesn't have to buy as much material. Just think about it, are you able to get more material into a porous surface by mashing it in or by stretching it thin over the surface?

If you are trying to get water off of a surface do you use a squeegee or a roller?

We don't use rollers because they make us more money up front, we use rollers because they give us a better reputation after years of use by our customers who see how our floors perform versus the competition.

Think about why people are doing what they are doing before you accept it as "better."
