Hey everybody and welcome back to another episode of 7 minute AE tutorials. Where you learn tips, tricks, and shortcuts in 7 minutes or less. No BS. Just AE.

In this course, I'm going to tell you all about Set Matte. Set Matte is a fast and convenient way to hide and reveal content, like text, images, and video. There are other ways to do this same process, such as with Alpha Mattes, but Set Matte reduces the number of layers in your project and also makes the boundaries for revealing and hiding content more precise. We'll also go over rasterization, precomping, and using shape layers vs. solids with Set Matte. There's a lot to get through, so let's dive right in.
