HO Scale Layout Tour - John Callahan's East Berkshire Branch

To kick off this model railroading season, we bring you our first full layout tour: John Callahan's HO Scale East Berkshire Branch.

The weekend of the 2019 Springfield Model Train Show brought the opportunity to visit some of the surrounding private model railroads. To my surprise, one of those opportunities happened to be the layout that inspired me to get into the hobby, through an article in a March 2013 issue of Model Railroader Magazine. The East Berkshire Branch is a freelanced transition-era layout set in New England, with the Boston and Maine, and Rutland Railroads operating over the line. Since the article was published, the layout was moved to a new basement and expanded. Many of the models shown reflect Mr. Callahan's super detailing skills, as few models are allowed to exist as "stock."

Trains run during the tour exhibit both railroads, with B&M ALCo rs-3s, and a Rutland Mikado each heading up a freight. Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and I hope to return soon.

If you would like to see more model railroad tours like this one, please let me know in the comments below, as other scale empires are waiting to be shown. As always, thanks for watching, and if you enjoyed, please leave a like and subscribe for more!
