The Motorola Razr was a series of mobile phones by Motorola. The V3 was the first phone released in the series and was introduced in July 2004 and released in the market in the third quarter of 2004. The V3 model was followed soon thereafter by the much improved V3i with a collaboration with Apple Inc. for iTunes to be built-in.
Over the Razr's four-year run, the V3 model sold more than 130 million units, becoming the best-selling clamshell phone in the world to date.
The Razr series was marketed until July 2007, when the succeeding Motorola Razr2 series was released. The succeeding models were the V8, the V9, and the V9m.
In October 2011, Motorola resurrected the Razr brand for a line of Android smartphones: the Droid Razr for Verizon Wireless (known simply as the "Motorola RAZR" on other networks) and an improved variant, the Droid Razr Maxx. The new "Razr" line shares the trademark thinness and stylized tapered corners with the original. The series was marketed until 2013.
Motorola formally launched the Razr at an event in Los Angeles on November 13, 2019. The device looks just like the Razr phones from the early 2000s — in fact, folded in half, the device is as thin as the very first Razr phone from 2004.
The new Razr will initially be available exclusively through Verizon for $1,499.99, or $62.49/month on a 24-month payment plan. Pre-orders open on December 26, 2019 (but Motorola later delayed that date) and then the phone will get a release date during January 2020, but that date was also delayed..

In the UK, the 2020 Motorola Razr will be exclusively available on EE. It will also be available in the EU, Latin America, Asia, and Australia.
