Facts: the Transamerica bike trail runs from Yorktown, Virginia to Astoria, Oregon. Since I live in DC, I decided to start from there instead, and ride through the historical US1 until I reached the Transamerica close to Ashville, VA. When I got to Astoria, I made an u turn and biked southbound through the pacific coast till San Francisco, California.
