A Hare Krishna Melody, by Devasadan Electric Bhajan Band

The Devasadan Electric Bhajan Band was called Devasadan for its connection with the Detroit Krishna temple, called Devasadan Mandir, a picture of which is displayed along with our deities Sri Sri Radha Kunjabihari. We added the word electric to the name because we used electric guitars, electric keyboards, and electric bass, along with the more traditional instruments in a bhajan band like harmonium and mridanga drum and kartals. We would play at the Rathayatra festival or Krishna Janmasthami and other celebrations. We had almost an hour’s worth of music in our repertoire and I always wanted to seriously record what we had, but that never happened. So, in spite of the imperfections in this recording, I thought it was worth sharing, even though this was only one of our practice sessions (sometime in 2020 or 2021) and recorded on a mere cell phone. The band included:
Jushya dasa on guitar, keyboards, and vocals.
Harish on vocals and harmonium.
Ekanta dasa on backup vocals and mridunga drum.
Stephen Knapp (Sri Nandanandana dasa) on bass guitar.
