Hurricane Destruction Grand Isle Louisiana Before and After

took a ride down to grand isle to visit my friends after the storm. It was chaotic. Please share this with facebook, the news, whoever you can show this video to it will really help to promote my content.

I would like to take some time and explain this entire video. In the beginning you can see the island before the hurricane hit, how the levee was constructed and the general condition of things there.
In order for me to get to Grand Isle directly after the hurricane I had to go through a lot of trouble. There was power lines everywhere, trees had fallen down... I used my chainsaw and help from the police to make it to a boat ramp. The boat ramp was completely swamped with marshgrass, snakes, and alligators. I managed to get my boat into the water after about 6 hours of work and then I went to Grand Isle.
I noticed on the way there there was several oil production pipes that were damaged. Once I got closer to the island I could see that the hurricane was still happening. I used radar to decide the best time for me to approach the island where I would be still safe from any bad weather. When I got there I found a comfortable location and slept.
The next day I went and cleared the road and and took a lot of footage with my drone And my cameras to help in the recovery process. 4 days after I got there and I had finished helping my friends do their boarding up or whatever we could do to salvage this situation I took my boat back to my truck. on the way there I stopped by some offshore oil production platforms, there was damage everywhere in the oil field.
On the way back to the truck I was even blocked by a huge oil tanker crossing Bayou Laforche, this by itself is an ecological disaster. the oil tanker is blocking the river and causing the flow of the river to change course.

There is a huge canal running down the island that should not be there. Multiple sink holes 10+ feet deep. I personally believe that this damage could of been avoided if they used better seawall to protect the island. I feel like if we don't do something soon there will be no more access to the island, grand isle state park, the coast guard station, and Louisiana wildlife and fisheries. furthurmore, the oil tanker blocking the river will continue to restrict our ability to service and repair offshore drilling platforms and production rigs.
