Safe Bleaching, Dyeing, & Cutting for Children (my son became BTS V, run era)

Hello today I am bleaching my sons hair, dyeing my sons hair, and cutting my sons hair for this low damage hair process he's been asking for since the summer- OPEN for how I did it & all products!

Please be advised that the strength of your developer will depend on how strong the hair is and how much melanin in the hair needs to be removed. Please also try going lower first before going higher in chemical strength and if you can, you can try to lighten the hair with just blonde dye instead of resorting to bleach at all.

I mixed my high lift bleach with 40 volume developer because I would be processing off scalp and in a short period of time for our genetically strong and dark hair. I probably would've been able to get away with 30 volume for a longer process time but as it was close to his bedtime, I did want the process to be a bit quicker rather than a slow cook and opted for 40 volume.

We processed the bleach for 30 minutes total in foil and then rinsed it out, washing it out with shampoo as well.

I did use Olaplex Step 1 in my bleach and after shampooing the bleach out, I used Olaplex Step 2 to further help hair reconstruction and rebonding.

We then placed the Manic Panic semi-permanent dye into his hair and waited 15 minutes, rinsed it out, and gave his bangs a little trim.

Once his hair dried, the color looks vibrant and his hair still feels quite strong. If we decide to rebleach his hair, I believe we will be avoiding the preprocessed areas but I decided to go over them this time because we had used 45 minutes of dye and 10 minutes of bleach last time and it left his hair still a bit orange, which was the look we were going for at the time but needed to go lighter for the blue this time around.
