High Speed Art: "The Florist's Apprentice" - Negative painting acrylic art technique

Enjoy this first high-speed video of one of my recent acrylic artworks called "The Florist's Apprentice" in action from start to finish.

I start by setting charcoal and glazing over with acrylic paint, then overlaying in opaque acrylic paint. At this point in time, I'm just blocking in colour and I'm not entirely sure what the subject matter of the painting will be. Halfway through this process, you will see a white piece of paper appear pinned above my canvas (about 1min 28sec)... this is the point where I've "found" the painting. I have made a rough thumbnail sketch, and I then begin use negative painting techniques to coax the figures and objects out from the colourful background. At this point, you can start to see the painting come alive and should get an inkling of where the painting is finally going to end up.
