The gist of this chant is enlightenment. There's no parallel match for the experience of it, the Brahman, the one that keeps expanding. The experience of transcending the mind, and be a whole one integrated unit can never be equivalent to live in fragments (of desires) like we do. Selfless Love is just one, in the same way Divinity (Brahman) is also not manifold. That is why scriptures state, “Ekam Eva Advitiyam Brahma”! That means, God is One and is the only One without a second. If we choose to understand the oneness in everything, we must seek to understand that oneness by recognizing the latent Divinity (Brahman) in different living beings that come into contact with us. Simply because you acquired a human form, you should not think that you are only human in nature. Your external form indicates that you are human. Never forget your inner self, the real aspect of Divine, who is firmly present in the depths of your heart. When God is firmly present within you, is it right for you to put up pretenses and false and inappropriate appearances? If under these circumstances, you begin to exhibit desires and show distortions, it will be doing injustice to this permanent aspect resident in your heart.

Meditate on this axiom that Svetaketu received from his father (Chandokya Upanishad 6:2:1). It destroys the life of becoming someone other than what you are. The preceptor of nobility wields the garland of words from the Veda. Stringed with the right method, to reveal the Lord that you already are. The destruction of preconceived notions is possible but only with a purified mind. You listen, then you contemplate and free yourself from the delusion. By seeing that 'That' and 'Thou' are indeed one since the dawn of time. Through this axiom the self is realised. Through this realisation, you gain immortality. Through this attainment you'll realise that you are everything.

This is Brahman
Thou are Brahman
All is Brahman
That Thou Art
